Rizal is a popular destination for bikers as it is known for its mountainous terrains in Antipolo City, San Mateo, and Rodriguez. Today, SM Supermalls in the east – SM City Marikina, SM City Masinag, SM City San Mateo, and SM Cherry Antipolo together with SM Cares launch the Bike Friendly Campaign following the success of the #BikeFriendly MOA kick-off in September.
A thousand ‘Share The Road’ string bags with reflectors are distributed to bikers who joined today’s launch in all four (4) malls. Bikers who are bound to the highlands in San Mateo and Marilaque and Sumulong Highways within Antipolo are treated with individual string bags with giveaways from partner tenants of each SM Mall. Simple blessing ceremonies are simultaneously held at SM City Marikina and SM City Masinag officiated by parish priests – Fr. Uldarico Dioquino of St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Antipolo City and Fr. Allan Oresca of San Antonio De Padua Parish in Calumpang, Marikina.
Leading the Bike Friendly campaign launch in SM City Marikina is SM Supermalls President Steven Tan, Senior Assistant Vice President for Operations Johanna Rupisan, Regional Operations Manager Engr. Dennis Martel and Mall Manager Francis Cruz. Mall Manager Lorna Paderon led the launch at SM City San Mateo and Assistant Mall Manager Raymond Bonifacio for SM City Masinag and SM Cherry Antipolo.
The Bike Friendly campaign at SM has organized, secure, and free-of-charge parking zones designated solely for bicycles. Bike parking in these malls can accommodate altogether around 1,000 bikers at full capacity. Bikers can as well avail free parking perks and rider rewards from participating SM Affiliates and tenants.
With SM’s bike-friendly facilities, customers can look forward to a safe, convenient, and enjoyable biking experience.
