Filipinos love exploring food. We easily try various food trends (e.g., 2020 food trends Dalgona coffee, Sushi Bake, Ube Cheese Pan de sal), but when we go back to the basics, we know what we like and exactly how we like it.

Mekeni knows this! And this is why it offers a variety of home-style goodness that’s made true to the Filipino palate and each member of the family.

Mekeni is one of the most successful brands not only in the Philippines, but throughout Asia.
Mekeni started as a small family business. It was in 1991 when the company experienced its first major crisis with the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in June of that year. Back then, Mekeni was just a small business with less than 25 employees, operated by Tatay Felix and Imang Meding Garcia—former public school teachers who started a small business with their life savings— and their sons Doods and Nards in the backyard of their home in Porac, Pampanga.

Over the years, Mekeni has encountered many problems, but they always went back to the most important things to them: their people and their community. This kept them centered.

Having experienced numerous major crises over the course of its life, Mekeni has proven that with hard work, perseverance, and a profound sense of dedication to service, any business, no matter the size, can conquer any challenge that life throws at it.

And like any successful business, Mekeni experienced several crises throughout its life—and conquered every single one of them. And now they are the most successful Filipino brand and everyone know who at what Mekeni is, a part of every Filipinos dining table.

Filipinos also use food to express love and here are the proof:

1. We love eating together, either during breakfast or dinner;

2. We spoil our loved ones with food (and use food to woo), grandparents to their grandchildren; parents to their children, etc.;

My nephew Sab is a Mekeni fan..

3. We help our friends deal with their problems with food;

4. We use food to connect and reconnect (e.g., e-numan sessions during the quarantine, and baker friends who send baked goodies to the rest of the barkada);

Among the top favorites are tocino, tapa, hotdog and Chicken Longanisa.

Good thing that Mekeni’s wide range of products have the following:

Tocino – Classic Sweet Tocino and Tamis Alat Tocino

Hotdog – Picnic Red Hotdog and Picnic Cheezy

Specialties – Mekeni Gluten-Free Chicken Longanisa, Belly Bacon, Go Lite Yogurt Sausage, and Beef Tapa.

Here are the breakfast, lunch or dinner Mekeni dishes that we’ve been enjoying ever since.
