Staying true to its mission and vision, the International Academy of Medical Specialists, Inc. (IAMS) in its 12th Annual Convention encourages every medical practitioner to work as one in ending the pandemic.

The IAMS working on the theme Coalescing United Response in Ending the Pandemic will be gathering at the Cocoon Hotel in Scout Rallos, Quezon City from December 3-4, 2022.

The International Academy of Medical Specialists, Inc. is composed of medical and surgical specialists from different parts of the world who champions quality healthcare by empowering medical specialists through continuing education and training.

Through the years, IAMS has established its role not only in health care services but also in environment making sure that practitioners observe conservation of natural resources. It also fosters the further education and elevating professionalism of medical specialists to contribute to advances in clinical practice, which demands a clear statement of medicine’s unifying purpose and doctors’ common values.

More than two years ago, world leaders declared the coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic killing millions of people in every corner of the earth. Global security, economic stability, and the lives of everyone were at stake. This extraordinary group of professionals and servant leaders has risen to the occasion immediately to save and serve the people, communities and the place we all live in.

As the whole world reopens, this group of doctors is busier than ever after realizing that during a global turmoil they should be more prepared as many people rely on their services.

Dr. Frederick Francisco, the president of IAMS in a statement said, “This convention is important in a variety of ways. It is first and foremost a learning platform where participants may learn about the most recent advancements in the medical field in terms of discoveries, studies, technology, etc. The additional knowledge, insights, and skills we will acquire at this conference will surely advance our practice and give us more resources, if not elevate our level of expertise altogether. The opportunity to meet, greet, and re-connect with both old and new acquaintances is the second reason we’re attending.”

“Undoubtedly, the pandemic weakens and kills people, physically, emotionally, and even spiritually. So aside from extending our selfless service in easing the victims’ pain and miseries, we can also lend our time and efforts and discovering and sharing knowledge purposely to control and manage the disease/s causing the pandemic,” added Francisco.
The IAMS strives harder to serve its purpose, to be a strong force yet gentle in its ways in fighting the global pandemic. This year, the IAMS envisions curing this global menace.

“We, the members of the International Academy of Medical Specialists, Inc., or IAMS, during those trying times said that we can’t stop instead push our limits to do the best that we could and continue to fulfill our roles in the society. Almost three years now, we all remain resolute and unfazed by the enemy that still lurks in the corner. We remained united, strong, faithful to our oath, and we come out even better, stronger, and committed more than ever to the only thing we all so love so much and that is caring for the sick and hurting.”

As this group of doctors convenes on Dec. 3-4, Francisco noted that despite all the difficulties and even miseries that the world has suffered, “the pandemic has taught us to evolve to be even better. It has also thought us the importance of technology which has enabled us to not only attend to our patients, to our peers, families and communities but has stirred us to innovate and improve our way of doing things.”

The IAMS as it looks for means and ways to CURE the pandemic, the group calls every medical practitioners to respond to the call of their sworn duties and mandate to effect change upon the lives of millions of our fellows.
