CIBI Information, Inc. (CIBI) has been recognized at the Asian Banking & Finance Awards 2026, receiving the Financial Inclusion Award for the second consecutive year. The recognition highlights institutions driving meaningful progress by expanding access to financial services for underserved communities.

For CIBI, the award reflects its long-standing mission to help more Filipinos participate in the formal financial system by making credit evaluation more inclusive and representative of real financial behavior.

“This recognition is especially significant because it celebrates a mission we have upheld for more than four decades,” said Pia Arellano, President and CEO of CIBI at the awarding ceremony.

“We have remained committed to helping Filipinos and institutions make better decisions through trusted data, while continuously evolving to meet the changing needs of our country.”

The recognition reflects the scale and impact of CIBI’s Advanced Tier (AT) platform, which powers one of the country’s largest and most inclusive credit ecosystems. The platform currently supports more than 1,091 institutions, more than 269 million tradelines, and over 60 million scorable Filipinos, enabling financial institutions to strengthen borrower onboarding, portfolio monitoring, reassessment, and risk management.

Central to this effort is CIBI’s focus on making more financial activity visible within the formal financial system. By leveraging real-time credit data from the government-mandated Credit Information Corporation (CIC), including information from rural banks, cooperatives, and fintech lenders, the platform has created more complete credit profiles and expanded access to financial opportunities.

The significance of this work is underscored by the country’s broader financial inclusion gap. According to a study by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), more than half of Filipinos remain unbanked, with limited visibility in formal credit systems. Traditional evaluation methods often overlook certain segments of financial activity, making it difficult for many to build a credit history and access reliable financial services.

As digital lending, Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services, fintech platforms, and microfinance solutions continue to grow, the need for more inclusive credit models is becoming increasingly critical.

By translating alternative financial data into verifiable credit profiles, CIBI is helping broaden access to credit and support more inclusive economic participation. The company continues to invest in expanding its data ecosystem and advancing solutions that enable more Filipinos to build sustainable financial futures.
