Talented young footballers from across Asia came together for Allianz’s regional football camp, an initiative created to champion the new generation of leaders and develop their skills.
The Allianz Explorer Camp Football Edition Asia 2019, hosted at The Arena in Singapore over four days, brought together 43 talented teenagers from the region to train under the tutelage of FC Bayern ambassador and former Croatian international Ivica Olic.
The young players, aged between 14-16 years old, gathered in the Lion City after finishing top at their home country qualifiers in China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
With 18 young footballers from the participating countries selected to represent Asia at the Allianz global football camp in Munich, the chosen few will get to experience training sessions with FC Bayern youth coaches and a chance to meet some of the first team’s star players
As part of the Allianz Global Explorer Program, the Football Edition is designed to empower promising Generation Z youngsters by exposing them to football-focused fitness workshops, footwork techniques, technical and tactical skills, and competition play.
In line with Allianz’s ambition to embrace technologies of the future, drone racing also featured at the camp, with three-time world champion Dunkan Bossion demonstrating his flying skills and leading a hands-on drone-making workshop to expose the teenagers to advanced technology. Allianz is the global sponsor for Drone Racing League (DRL) Allianz World Championship Season.
Gino Riola, Head of Market Management Center of Excellence, Allianz Asia Pacific, said, “We are proud to play our part in creating an environment for young children across Asia to learn new skills, explore new places, and collaborate with new friends. Our Allianz regional initiative provides a great foundation for youngsters to enhance their football and team building talents, while gaining new skills and experiences with the technologies of the future. It goes without saying that the future is bright for the young participants and we look forward to watching them grow.”
The Explorer Camp included presentations on the final day for high achievers who showed outstanding performance across the four days.
