Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, collaborated with international non-profit Feed the Children to provide educational support to more than 1,600 students from seven fishing and farming communities in Sagbayan, Bohol.
A team of 20 FedEx volunteers banded together to fill new school bags with essential supplies, including notebooks, scissors, writing pads, erasers, sharpeners, pencils, and raincoats. These supplies were delivered to students from public schools to make sure they are equipped with the necessary tools to help them navigate the academic year. By addressing these basic educational needs, FedEx and Feed the Children aim to foster a better learning environment and help students succeed in their studies.
“For the past four decades, we have been an avid supporter of programs that enable local communities to thrive,” said Maribeth Espinosa, managing director of FedEx Philippines. “At FedEx, delivering for good and contributing to the social and economic needs of the underprivileged is part of our DNA. We strongly believe that education is a powerful tool for change, and through this initiative, we hope to make a positive impact on the lives of these young learners.”
The collaboration with Feed the Children is one of many initiatives FedEx Philippines undertakes to support community development. FedEx has a long history of giving back to the communities where its team members live and work, leveraging its global network and resources to make a meaningful difference. This initiative not only provides immediate assistance but also helps build a foundation for long-term educational success in these underserved communities.
