A total of 74 entries will battle it out in the first day of semifinals of this year’s World Slasher Cup 1 9-Cock Invitational Derby after surviving a tough two-cock elimination rounds last Friday night, January 27, at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Top fighters competing in tonight’s three-cock semifinals are sabong legend Biboy Enriquez, Pol Estrellado, Ayong Lorenzo, Miggy Arayata, Jerry Celeste/ Raul Panizal, Ito Ynares/Patrick Mallare/R. Medina, John Seiner/Johnny Moore, Enrique Burgarin, Antonio/William, Edgardo Go/Dennis Lumpay, Albert Dechavez, M. Pua/ L. Montenegro, Precious Grace Labios/Roel Ola, Doni/A1RC, James Atienza/Dodoy Diaz, Belle Almojera, Francis “Iskul” Juan, Butch Cambra/John Flores/Julius De Guzman, Gerome David/Marc Cruz, Adrian Manalansan, Danny Lim, Neil Figueroa, James Uy/Papa Bravo, Gary Tubianosa/Jay Soria/Nelson Garcia, Vice Rocky Sarmento, PADZBARR, Justin and Jeremy Berin, and Mario Siochi Jr., all with 2-0 records each after the elimination round.

Participants who scored 1.5 points and 1 point in the elimination round will also move on to the semifinals.

Meanwhile, another 60 entries will also advance to the second day of the semifinal round on Sunday, January 29, led by Patrick Antonio, Nene Araneta, Ayong Lorenzo/Ronald Barandino, Albert Dichavez, Cesar Ancayan/Kevin Lugon, Erlim Azotea/Boyet Jullada/Joven Aguilar, Antonio Celedio Jr., Ronnie Perez, Tony Marfori/Nelson Mantes, Nyok/Tony, Jonel Cruz/Dominic Camu/Joe Alimbuyuguen, Guam Group, Ahjo Dimaano/Vince EMC Gobon, William Mamba/Michael Masburn, Jeff Hapon/Wilfredo Aga, Jonarie Fortaleza/Robert Santiago, Walter Ozaeta/ Art De Castro, Ito Ynares, and Allan Villegas/Obet Bello, all with 2-0 records each after the elimination round.

The winners of the semi-finals will move on to the four-cock pre-finals on January 31 and grand finals on February 1 wherein a new World Slasher Cup champion will be crowned.
